- Château d’Aqueria is one of Tavel’s long‑established estates, with a continuous history dating back to the seventeenth century. The property sits on the eastern side of the appellation, surrounded by a mix of sand, clay and rounded stones that retain heat and help ripen the region’s traditional blend of Grenache, Cinsault and other southern varieties. Tavel itself lies just west of the Rhône, on a series of gentle slopes and plateaux that give naturally low‑yielding vineyards and a style of rosé that has been firmly dry and food‑focused for generations. A good proportion of the of the vineyard remains wild garrigue which is perfect for the environment. The wine is vivid and structured, showing ripe red berries, pomegranate and a touch of spice. The palate is full and neatly balanced, with fresh acidity carrying the fruit through to a clean, lightly savoury finish. A perfect rose for matching with food, try it with oysters.
